Holes in my mast

I intend to remove an "add on" in-mast reefing system from my Ufo 31.This will leave approx 70 pop rivet holes.Should I fill these with new rivets or leave them alone? I have asked two experts at Seldens at Southampton Show and Earls Court and have had conflicting advice.
Any ideas please?

I'd have thought they represent a stress point; but not sure what you'd fill them with.

If you get the fingering right, on a windy day you could probably play a tune.
