Hi asking for some advice please ; my Mooring Buoy has a hole in it somewhere ; its rather flat and podgy looking ; water can be heard inside it .

So my query and question is -

Can I inflate it with one of those Car Tyre cans ?

Is it now junk ?

Or am I into buying a new one ?

Thank CP

Mooring buoys have a football type valve rather than a car type so firstly would need an adapter.
If your thinking puncture repair- water inside could be the 1st problem and the 2nd being it needs to be driven on in a car for some distance to work..
Could you not remove the buoy and take it out of the water to assess if you could use a tyre plug on the hole once found ?

Or replace with new. If its knackered you'll spend time, and money, trying to fill it with foam and eventually have to replace it anyway.

How much would you save by bodging it? Then you'll be cursing your luck when you have to buy a new one anyway, unless you're leaving a mess for someone else to sort out?

Aiming for a half arsed fix in maritime stuff isnt usually a great idea.
