I have yet to find a pumpout in southern france or majorca, and in any case all the monster yachts that don't move from one month to the next with liveaboard crew must be dumping direct into the marina.
No. But take with you loads of cotton wool and fungal/antibiotic eardrops because everybody gets ear infections in Mallorca from swimming in dilute lukewarm sewage in popular anchorages.....
Strictly speaking you're supposed to be using one in all the National Parks in all the maed countries - none supply pump-out facilities as are found in UK and USA and you're expected to leave the 3M zone and ther pump out.
The whole thing is so EU-ridiculous that it's honoured more in breach than observance.
I don't think I'd want to go to the expense of having one fitted on the basis of that, nor would I turn down an otherwise suitable boat. Do you have any idea how I could find out from others who can say for sure what the present position is?
Thanks, yes I looked at the Cruising Association but the subs at £105 seemed pretty steep to me, though I note that overseas members only pay £51 which seems a little bit better. I'm in Cornwall at the moment. I wonder if that's 'overseas' enough?
