I have recently acquired a Broom 33 which has a holding tank. On the port side deck there are two removable caps, one smaller than the other, that are to do with sucking out the tank contents. Unfortunately the labels for each cap have disappeared but I surmise that the larger of the two is the main suction port. However I do not know the function of the other one.
I know where the air vent is and the seacock and entry from the toilet.
I poured water down the smaller capped port and it filled to the top and stayed there. I would have expected it to drain into the holding tank unless there is some sort of valve or a blockage. Is it a vent to let in air when the contents are sucked out?
I would greatly appreciate some effluent related guidance in particular over the function of the pipe which has the smaller cap.
Thanks for your help.
