Icom don't sell holders for their handhelds apart from belt clips. I wanted to keep mine on a lowered washboard, apart from using the belt clip or buying a drinks holder I wondered what other ideas you had come up with. The manual says it shouldn't be kept in direct sunlight  getaway! I can't be bothered to make a wooden holder

I was going to suggest a wooden holder, but apparently you can't be bothered. So just stick it on with No Nails or gaffer tape or something :p

He can always break out the family fortune and buy one of those naff wooden holders from the xpensive corner of the chandlery. There is one that
appears that might do.

Being slightly more serious, if you don't plan to use the belt clip, perhaps you could dismantle it and screw the part that clips onto the radio, onto the washboard? Or would the hanger on the back of the radio fit the mic holder from a fixed radio?

what about some squidgy plastic downpipe with closed cell insulating foam pipe inside to act as a grip ? Practical but a bit untidy ?

Having a scrap of 3mm grey PVC in my workshop, I cut a three-lobed piece out, smoothed the corners. Then I covered the area to be protected with pieces of wood, and heated the remainder where the fold should be with an electric heat gun, and folded the side lobes and bottom lobes over the HH. If you are careful, it looks factory made.

I have the M21. I fitted a standard mic clip in cockpit and at nav table. Radio clips on fine for use or storage below. I think the belt clip for M23 is same as M21 so will work for yours.

just put it in your pocket...

There ain't a lot of pocket room left when I've got a pair of shorts on mate ;) The wife is still undergoing therapy.....therapist could do with a couple of sessions herself :D

Thanks for the ideas, I have just found a couple of dinghy fairleads in the shed which are perfect - one for the cabin also as Stork suggests...

There's a folding anchor holder made by Trem that's a perfect fit for a handheld VHF. It's like a winch handle holder but a better shape. I drilled a grid of holes in the front to make it more audible.

Holy 4 year old thread resurrection Batman!

I have now since sold my Cornish Cutter and now throw my VHF in a winch handle bag as I don,t have a winch on my Drascombe ;)
