Hoisting furling genoa problem

Have you had the sail cleaned ?
.Sometimes when the sail I stretched out on the floor for a new sacrificial strip ,to get it flat to apply the new strip, the stitching, seizing the bolt rope in position evenly in the luff tape, parts.
The can mean that the sail is bunched along the bolt rope as it's hoisted making the bolt rope Diametre thicker and then jambing up on the hoist .At bit like your sock sliding down, and getting fatter around your ankle.

Joins in the foils can be mis aligned but you would normally see this when the swivel sticks on a join, when hoisting.
When the swivel on hoisting tries to turn that's usually ,1) the rope is jambing on mast head sheave .
2) the halyard is a laid rope ,in parting the inherent twist through the rope to twist the swivel.
3)the swivel bearings are jambing when hoisting.,try to turn it a deck level with some load on it to prove this .
4)forestay to tight or to loose.
A combination of any of the above can cause a jamb on hoisting .

Just an update folks. The application of a silicon spray all over the head swivel and then the genny luff worked wonders. Hoisted a treat then! Thanks for the replies.
