I dont know why, but as soon as the price of anything is more than you can envisage in your wallet everyone seems to loose their grasp on reality.
Take for instance a typical large(ish) boat as tested frequently in the mags., say one with a not exceptional price tag of £500k.
Now consider the man in the street with an average salary of £27k. (net pay, less fares to work of barely £1000 per month). In his whole working life he won't ever earn the cost of this boat.
Meanwhile the industry goes further and further upmarket driven by the rapturious praise afforded it for every excess. There seems to be a vast gap in the market for affordable boats, it's a pity that they all seem to come from overseas. (S24 excluded)
