HMS Pickle replica saved and being restored

The owner likes to think of her as a recreation rather than a replica because it would be impossible to build an exact copy. There may be a lot of questionable ships around in this category but "Pickle" isn't one of them and I certainly wouldn't call her a dog.

Dog might be a tad harsh but she's spent the last ten years being bandied about as a replica of the pickle even to the point of appearing as such on the Tom Cunliffe show 'ships that built Britain' as an example of 17th century ship building. Though they might have used the one that went to Wales for the actual filming of that show since the two became seemingly interchangeable for a while.
