My boat is slightly smaller but it seems to me that this is a near miss with the Thames Barrrier

Hard to imagine how big that vessel is....have stood on the deck and it is quite huge!
Infact if you look at the loading crane 2/3ds toward the stern on the starboard side, positioned just behind is what they call the loading pontoon.....this is the floating pontoon that they deploy to the stern of the ship which is then used to offload troops vehicles etc into the landing craft.....
Company I work for carried out a major modification to this pontoon and considering it took up two lanes on the motorway in transit to us it just looks so bloody small in that video....amazing!
And yep I'm betting the skipper had his brown trousers on yesterday! ;-)
