Assuming you had the money... would you buy that helicopter ????

Its like all those SUVs that you see up to their axles in seawater at slips. They should be obliged to put a large sticker on it "Don't buy, has been in salt water"

Re: HM Coastguard\'s latest rescue method?

Was with 706 squadron in Culdrose a number of decades ago when 706 still existed as a 2nd line training squadron. After every ASW dunk where we had been flying/hovering very close to the sea surface, we would always have the whole of the Sea King very liberally sprayed with gallons of WD40 and also had some sprayed through the engine intakes while they were still running, to get rid of the sea water and protect against corrosion..... seeing how effective WD40 always was, made me ensure that I have always carried large quantities onboard every boat I have ever had and use it for all sorts of stuff!
Think of the greek father in the film "big fat Greek wedding" with his window cleaner being used as a cure for everything...... I'm told I'm similar with WD40! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
