Does anyone have knowledge/experience of this digital satellite radio?I am going foreign next year and it seems a good way of getting the shipping forecast and (for my wife) The Archers.How easy would it be to convert it to run on th boats 12 volt supply?

According to the info I have read on the Net about this radio, it comes standard with a 110/240 VAC power lead but there is also an optional 12 volt dc lead.
So I don't think you will have any problem.

Having just spent £150 on this radio for the exact purpose you want it for I WISH I HADN'T!!! It will only receive the BBC World service as it is not tuned to the correct satelite for all the other broadcasts. Reception is VERY good, but of no use for going to sea.

I'm going to ask the obvious question, can't Hitachi help re modification or re-tuning or something? and if not I think you may have a case with the trade descriptions act; ie 'fit for the purpose for which it was supplied'.
