Hiring a Liferaft

Seriously, what sort of cost is it? I'd be very interested if anyone who's done this was willing to share - I can see it could be a good option.

Neither of the websites above give costs, they just invite people to contact them for a quote, which I always find very annoying - sailmakers tend to do the same. I don't want to put either them or me to the trouble of a detailed quote, I just want a ballpark figure so I know whether or not to think more seriously about it. Are we talking £50, £500 or £5000...?

Cheers
Patrick

Reason I was asking about hire costs was that I'm thinking of buying a new raft. Our Plastimo Offshore was 17 years old at repack last year but he was still happy to certify it for 3 years. Do I wait until it's service interval has expired and chuck it away or sell now while it still has 2 years service life left?

I think we payed £70 for 10 days a couple of years ago. Might have been less than that but certainly wasn't more.

Currant prices from suffok sailing are:

4 person 4day £ 45 6 person 4 day £ 49
7day £51 7 day £54
10day £64 10 day £70
14day £83 14day £95

They can rent you a raft from 4 days to a year at various prices and sizes, i pay £360 for the year on a 4man. If you have ever needed one in the past like me then trust me you would never go out without a raft. They have just moved close to ipswich docks and marinas very convinent, i think the old guy is selling up, just a rumour though.
