A mate of mine has a an 02 Rinker 270 with a radar arch that he want to get cut and hinges fitted to allow a better air draft

1,How hard is it to do himself and where would he be able to buy the hinges

2,who could do this for him at a reasonable price in the Lincolnshire/Notts area

TIA

Just tell him to knock her up to 30 knots and head for the Glory Hole. That should bring about the desired modification. Just remember it's quite a sharp turn to starboard at the last minute...

Realistically, I looked at my radar arch a while back and pondered...

I'd be tempted to do the job myself. Make chunky marine ply backing pads to support some (manly) SS hinges/bolts, cut carefully with a jigsaw (fine tooth blade) and cover the exposed edges with a simple ali trim. Watch the wiring harness when cutting. I can't see it being that difficult a job.

Shedloads of SS hinges at reasonable prices here.
