I have a Highlander 28 and would like to contact other owners of this model. I am particularly interested in trying to contact the Elizabeth Thomas owner of 'Upstart', recent winner in class at the Bell Lawrie Series 2005.

I think she is a meber of the Lake District Boat Club, but I have also heard the boat has a berth in Fleetwood.

If you know either this boat or any other Highlander 28's please let me know at peter@awardls.com

Cheers

You may wish to contact the CCC in the first instance, organisers of the Scottish Series. They will pass you details on to Elizabeth.

Hi,
I have owned one since 1984.Mine is a lift keel version which was much modified following keel failure .The design was by Julian Everitt, and the then builders I understand changed various aspects including the keel, and tried to sideline the designer ,resulting in a legal battle. The builders went out of business(Production Yachts),and I think some were then built by evolution Yachts.Eventually the design became the property of Copeland on the south coast and some modified versions named Copeland 28's were built.
I saw several when I bought mine, and one called Fair Highlander was moored on the Orwell nr Ipswich, and was for sale some years ago.
I first saw the boat design as an "Eagle",and have some of the original paperwork.
The design was similar to the Eliminator 32,without the counter stern which was popular at the time. This design you may know had reasonable success in the racing circuit some years ago.I think it is a pitty that Everitts design was altered otherwise there may have been more built.

Must let my secretary use the computer, but will be interested in future references.
