I was surprised yesterday/Friday to note that no-one I met - boat owners, yardies, office 'admirals' - in/around Hamble Point Marina seemed to be aware of the forecast 'highest tides for 20 years'. Are they all so detached now from the real world....?

Flood warnings have been issued throughout the UK this weekend, as the biggest high tides for two decades combine are set to combine with unsettled weather.....
