I may seem to many forumites that everyone is utterly frozen in their tracks, alarmed to see the apparently huge audiences for each thread, as shown in the "views" count column.
But in fact, there's hardly anyone hereabouts. The high viewing count is entirely down to me checking every single post dozens, hundreds or even thousands of times over, just to make absolutely SURE that the spelling and grammar are correct. If everything wasn't absolutely right, then of course I'd immediately rip in with some pedantic comment. Actually, I've been checking at the same frantic pace for several years, but it's only become noticeable with this new forum software. Longjohnsadler, Bignick and Weejimi often help out with this inspection work as well, ahem.
Anyway, rest assured that everyone's delightful missives are almost always perfect, but I don't think that this is any reason for me to even slightly reduce my maniacal levels of quality control.
Oh, and of course, with all this rigourous inspection of everyone else's threads and posts, keeping my own standards is EVEN MORE vital. I can't be seen to be lacking in the grammar or spelling in the least little bit. So, of course, I'll be checking even this post dozens of times over the next few hours, and several hundred times over the coming few days.
Hope this helps.
