I'm hoping to be in the market soon for an outboard and I'm probably thinking 15/20 HP. I saw these Hidea motors in Croatia last week and they certainly look good and seem to have reasonable reviews at an affordable price. The 10/15/20 HP's have manual and electric start by means of an internal battery. Anyone any experience of them???

Have a look at Orca outboards. Yamaha copies, quite popular in the UK for budget conscious boaters.

My brother has the 8 HP single cylinder. It pushes his 3.2 metre sib along at 14 knots on the plane

Main problem with some Chinese engines is lack of service support and spares. Is there a dealer in your area?
I heard from a few marine engineers that the Chinese Parsun brand were copies of Yamaha, but cut corners such as using some nylon bushes in the place of proper bearings. There might be similar practices with other manufacturers.

They look good. Chinese made so probably either very good or very bad!
If you find out about your version (very good or very bad) of the motor on shore, it's better than at sea :D
Personally, I prefer not to take any chances with Chinese motors.
