Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself! In the not too distant future I will be defecting from the inland waterways (canals) and moving to the Isle of Wight. Now I can't bring my narrowboat with me so I'm going to be looking for a motorboat, and a mooring! Its going to be a life style change as at preasent I deliver boats around the system and am a praticing Boat Safety Examiner. I have my name on a waiting list at Ryde Harbour 2- 3 years! Anyway, hope to get to know a few people on here!

Hi Nigel, if you're moving to the IOW, then try Island Harbour 01983 822999 for moorings, lots of work going on there at the mo, been a bit crap there recently but it is going up market with new pub and stuff, only problem is the lock gates, but I hear they are going to make it operational 24hours (subject to tides), during the season it operates 8am - 8pm or later by arrangement. Also hear they have good rates at the mo, cos of all the current disruption (dredging, building work etc..)
