Hi,

Couldnt see a new members area. Correct me or move this if Admin sees fit.

Just bought a Lochin 33 because i dont like staying in the marina much :)

I'll have lots of questions in due course about how to fix broken bits...

Wish you a good evening !

Hello and welcome!

Good man, me neither. Cant say the same for some of the Marina Queens in the neighbourhood. Watchout for @seastoke ! Proppa marina queen. He'll have you become a dab hand with the duster polishing the boat bling and being very Jones about it.
The most important commodity on a boat is the size and amount of funboxes it carries. Would you care to show yours? It could lead to an impromptu visit to celebrate your new possession. (y)

Marina queens ?? Well its going to be kept in Brighton... enough said

The funboxes. Is that a refernce to queens again? You might have lost me. Unless you mean my tackle box which os a bulging mess ?

The engines.... 2 x 180c sabres in unknown condition. Nick Burham would be lost for words if he looked around the engine boxes. Well he needs a challenge

Fingers crossed they start and run (ish). Once you are happy they do and time/money allows, strip and thoroughly clean the sea water cooling system and the fuel system. Clean/flush the fuel tanks if you can and go through every pipe, valve and fitting on the diesel supply. Do all that and she will be lovely and reliable.

They start easily and run sweet. Possibly a little underpropped but it is used to carrying 12 bodies plus kit. Say another 1.5 to 2 tonnes. It wont get that kind of load under my ownership. No smoke. Lovely noise. 13 to 14 knots cruise. Seen 21 knots flat out.

Hi Jinxed, nice boat?Welcome to the forum. I’m the argumentative one, personally I like staying in marinas. That’s where the restaurants are?

Thanks
Ok lets argue about restaurants. Havent seen anything to argue about in Brighton Marina. All high street stuff ?

Lochin 32 is a great boat, they, or the hulls, were used by the RNLI for a good reason, and were the boat of choice by many a charter boat skipper, as I suspect yours was, from what you say.
Enjoy your time with her, I suspect you’ll have a bit of cosmetic work to do if she was previously used commercially. No bad thing, you can then put your own stamp on her.

Thanks for your good wishes. From my youth spending time out of Poole, i remember "inner wheel" (RNLI), "Alarm" (Police) and "James Alexander" (dive boat i think) being the Lochins i admired and never forgot!

Be careful of Brucek he is not the Brighton type but his boy friend is.

Roy, if you weren't going through the male menopause you'd put down the duster and polisher and actually leave the marina in your boat once in a while.
