Well back from Portugal. The weather was fantastic. Went to see how the new marina at Albufeira was doing. Bloody hell, I felt nauseus when I first saw it. So many colours !!! every house / apartment etc was a different colour. But strangely soon got used to it after a long, liquid lunch. All the properties were sold before being built, as usual, and are now up for resale at twice the price.
Not a very big marina and currently has mostly day boats and a few yachts moored there. Apart from the very few hammerheads, then didn't seem to be any moorings for bigger boats. Whether they are aiming at the property/ boat owner, not sure.
We also went to Vilamoura. Shop wise, this seems to be going down market. The shoes are crap, and as are the clothes. The majority of bars advertise HUGE screens showing footie or karaoke evening. Most of the restaurants now show the menu in pictures .... duh !!!! I hate that. Like Wimpys used to be !
There was a great swedish restaurant there. We enjoyed a lovely long lunch there.
....... oh yes, some nice boats to look at too (forgot about that bit !!!!)
