Hi Guys, me again
Thank you for the warm welcome I got from most of you. I suppose Ive got a bit of a brassneck barging (get the pun, barging!) in here on the strength of a couple of weeks on the R. Thames and I don’t expect you to count the swampland that covers most of the family farm back home as an Inland Waterway! But I aint gonna be around too long.
Watson 1959 Thanks for the explanation. I got a complete rundown from Google once you explained the ‘rhyming slang’ bit. Is it still used to any great extent or is it just ceremonial, like the Pealy Kings and Queens?
Sarabande thank you too. I cant figure out which gender you are but is the ‘sara’ a clue? Yes, we did get to Runnymede and went to see the Magna Carta memorial and the JFK memorial too. It felt pretty strange standing on what is American soil in the middle of England thanks to the generosity of you Brits.
Ive since read up the detailed history on Magna carta
Alruss Sorry you seem to have a problem with us Septics. Strange thing is I cant ever remember anyone at home badmouthing Limeys
Since enjoying your wonderful river, we’ve been to the city of Bath to see what the Romans left you and to Avebury and Stonehenge. Impressive heritage. Heading South to the coast tomorrow
See y’all!

If you get the chance, get yourself up to the Norfolk Broads (between Norwich and Great Yarmouth). This is the most beautiful stretch of waterways and man made lakes. If you don't have time to stay up there, you can hire a dayboat at Wroxham or Potter Heigham. You can also rent a cruiser for 3 or 4 days, and you will see quite a lot in that time.
Not been to Louisiana yet, but I really enjoy work and vacation in the US. Love both the east and west coasts, and have sailed in the Chesapeake Bay. Done the airboat bit in Florida. Great fun.
