Hi Damo and Jobs a good un...

Re:Wake

An Irish Wake would cost you several bottles of Whyskey and a few crates of beer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif A boat wake would probably need about 10 gallons of red / white per hour. Fuel that is, not wine.(or maybe both /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif)

It was a great day out. Wind was generally 15kn, but it got to 30kn off Brean Down, and there was quite a lot of debris on that side of the Channel.

Jobsy introduced me to a handy anchorage tucked behind Birnbeck Island, where we had sarnies and salad al fresco, out of the stiff breeze.

I hope Cafnod enjoyed his sail with us, and his hand is OK after being stepped on /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Other local reprobates out enjoying the conditions...

Powerful, them little mariners, aren't they?

I reckon a wake like that is like a carpet. £10 a metre.

Never seen wake coming from the side of a boat before!!!! Dont understand them mobo thingies! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It's Flatholme, with a submarine stuck on a sandbank in front of it.

If I win, I'd like to work with children and animals.

Yep, actually been round it three times this year. Which, considering we didn't buy our first Yacht until June, I'm quite chuffed about. Hope I can get out there again soon, once me engine is sorted.

How is the engine job going? I put Cobby girl on the pontton for Wednesday night and saw Ishtar was still there. She looked high at the stern, so I assume the engine is out.

Hi Allan. Yes. the engine is out, and I'm waiting to find out what parts are needed. In the meantime I found a load of rust in the fuel tank, so bought a new plastic one. Of course, none of the fittings are correct, so I'm having to make all those fit.......

It's frustrating, but I'll feel a lot happier when it's done. I'm not sure why they haven't moved us to our permanent pontoon position yet. I may pop down this afternoon and have a chat.

They did say they were going to move it soon. I put in my form to order a pontoon on Wednesday, do you know how long it takes?
