Hi Folks,

I've been using YBW for years for the PBO forum. I can't believe I've missed out on this Forum all this time :o .

Well - I was wondering - this is obviously an 'open' forum, but is there some organisation / association as it were behind it?

Kind regards

Thanks MadHatter, it was an admittedly clumsey attempt to ask if this forum was closely coupled to the BCYA, which I kind of guessed it was.

So just to rephrase this a little,

Hi - I'm Jeff, new to the forum, cruising area is Avonmouth to Milford, moored up in the River Axe with a Newbridge Venturer - 'Panache'.

Some of you guys and gals may also have seen me prancing about on 'Kalel', out of Neyland.

Regards

Jeff

I would not say that this forum is linked to BCYA, as far as I know its just a collection of Bristol Channel sailors, some of these are active in the BCYA.

Not sure why this may be important to you?

I just had a slight apprehension that this might be 'reserved' for BCYA members. At the time, I hadn't realised that the BCYA was simply (!) an association of local clubs.

Not important - just didn't want to tread on any toes.

Well we got a smelly old motor boat and I have been made welcome!

Keep an eye out for a blue Colvic chugging up and down the Haven or on the pontoon at Dale..........the Grumpy Uncle.

Always nice to have another Jeff on board :D

I have met the owner of a boat from Angle bay moorings......the boat is Solan Goose....we had to rescue him the other week when his tender was lost from his mooring, thus leaving him stranded aboard. Luckily the tender was blown into the bay and not out to sea.

It was quite exciting having the coastgaurd call us to assist them!.......thoughts of helecopters, divers, scantily clad girls in distress ect all aided by the Grumpy Uncle.

Nah....2 blokes having a mug of tea while we rock up at 6 kts!

This Bristol Channel Forum was set up for us by YBW after I asked one of the moderators if they would/could a few years ago.

Its not affiliated to or representative of any club or organization, just an open forum for anyone interested in the Bristol Channel area.
