HH VHF battery saga & seamarknunn

Henrys side kick

Don't understand your comment? I could misinterpret it as something more suited to the Lounge, but I thought on the ECF we were better than that.

Having read the previous comments Foxes seemed to be getting a bit of a kicking so I felt it only right I should give my positive comments on the company.

Fox's

Just my 2p.

Over the years at Fox's I've always found Henry helpful & never offhand (same with Simon downstairs).

I don't keep my boat at Fox's so it's not because I'm a berth-holder & I've only ever bought small ticket items from his section.

I called in last week trying to obtain a small (about 3") piece of white heat-shrink tubing. It was very much a long shot & I wasn't surprised when they didn't have any. Unprompted, Henry found some white twin-core, stripped the cabling out of it & gave me the length of outer sheath in the hope that it would do what I wanted (it was a cosmetic exercise).

Now, that's good service & excellent customer relations.

Have the retailer/manufacturer determined what the problem with the battery is yet? I would definately be getting annoyed if this problem was not resolved by now.

Still no feed back after slagging off Seamark Nunn.

Don't like the way you have linked my post to this comment as I have never ever slagged anyone off. I have tried one or two of the other local chandleries and would always go first to Seamark Nunn as they carry a very good stock and I have found the staff to be very helpfull. I would not say that about the staff at Fox's.

Well Seamaerk Nunn and the manufacturer all joined the forum so they could post point of view. you would have thought that they would have reported back when they found out what the problem was. I would also have expected the OP to report back.

Accept my apologies :o, I was not intending any slur on you, the slagging was from the OP, just an easy way to bump the thread hopefully to get some feedback from willpatten. I agree with you, one or all of them should have posted back:(.

For the record, the testing of the battery was completed by Entel on 4th Feb and was indeed found to be faulty. Entel therefore sent us a warranty replacement battery by courier which arrived at Seamark Nunn on 8th Feb. We then sent the new battery, along with the customer's original Entel VHF handset (which we had retained) by courier on a next day service to Mr. Patten's home address. According to our courier's records, delivery was attempted on 9th Feb but the package was not finally delivered until 10th Feb. Therefore the whole process - from the time the battery was brought in to our chandlery under complaint - to the time the replacement battery was delivered back to the customer - took just over 1 week.
I trust that this is a satisfactory outcome for all concerned.
regards, Andrew Nunn
