Here\'s one for Learner

Seeing as how you seem to be chasing all round Europe looking for a boat, how about buying one at auction?

In the USA?

Have look at this site.

Sorry can't do the clever thing where you just double click on it, you'll have to do it the old fashioned "cut and paste" way.

Its a nice 1997 Fairline Phantom 40 footer with Cats, for $220K, so about £145K, plus shipping back here from Flordia would be what, say £8 - £10K? Or they've got loads of other boats, seem some good deals there.

So whadyya think then eh?

Tempted?

Having failed (?) to fall off the same transom and watch a pre-teen manage that rib all I can say is NO.

Seriously do not like patio doors and am not a betting man...howver value is incredible. When I've been in SFO amazed at the number of 2 yr old boats selling at 50% - 60% OF NEW. sO different to Europe

I love the site though , used to be great fun !!

P.S. Can you do MOB from a S48 /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

still waiting to get a boat

Re: Here\'s one for Learner

Look young Steve Davis, it's about time you got it right.

It's only MOB in UK. In SofF it's called "going for a swim".

But in answer to your question, I can do it anywhere off anything.

Sorry but that's the only excitement that I getin my life .

I've decided that any undue stress on the smnore...snore......and by the way ...

P.S. The way I heard it was a definite MOB !!!

SoF , Medway, W***ham,, wherever /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Here\'s one for Learner

I know its a Brit boat but, if it doesnt have a proper CE certificate, you cant re-import it back into Europe without going through a certification process which could cost thousands. Then you've got the problem of different voltages for appliances as well. If its a US boat, then certification could be nigh on impossible because many of the components in the boat will never have been CE certificated. Bullshit red tape, I'm afraid
