Henri Lloyd Mens Elite Offshore Jacket and Hi Fit Trousers - User Experience Information

I am in the market for new waterproofs and the Henri Lloyd Mens Elite Offshore Jacket and Hi Fit Trouser has caught my eye. The material is so called DRI PRO 3-Layer which is claimed to be waterproof, wind proof and breathable. Has anyone any experience of these waterproofs good or bad.

I understand the price and price point compared to other Henri Lloyd waterproofs and other suppliers of waterproofs, so just interested in whether these are a reliable or not reliable waterproof product e.g. does the lining fall to bits after 2 years.

I have the jacket and its been fine after two seasons. Transparent panels in the hood are fine too. The material is very like 3 layer goretex (which is used on my older Henri Lloyd salopettes). Light use as I have lighter weight waterproofs for gentler rain.

I'd struggle to buy any product with "Elite" in the name, though of course I secretly still think I am, in my own peculiar way.

The best way to compare is feel the fabric. If it feels as durable as others it probably is.
Look at cut and features. Is the design better or worse, does it have everything?
Taped seams, face covering, hood adjustment, hood rain guide, pockets, pocket lining.

In the Musto world, their BR series are billes as equivalent to their xPX series just with in house materials. They aren’t even close. The fabric is just as good, for sure. Goretex patents expired years ago. The cut and features are definitely a subset, leading to a less capable jacket. It’s still waterproof but for extended use in poor conditions they just aren’t as good.

Also, be honest with yourself about your usage. My MPX is 15 years old and has been through hell many times so was worth the money. I did quite a few years Solent bimbling though and the cheaper stuff would have been absolutely adequate as I never had a wave over the head or sat in heavy weather for six hours straight.
