Henley Festival

I've been away for a few days so missed all the fun.

'Racing at HRR finishes on SUNDAY. For someone advertising themselves as a charter vessel, you really don't know much do you?'

To be clear I was asking as we, as a family, were looking to do the Festival NOT as a charter. We only charter the boat occasionally to help a little towards its upkeep. The boat was coded when we had it moored at Poole so we have just kept it going, but I am new to the Thames so just wanted to see what the form was for the festival.

I thought I had asked a civil question and was pretty shocked to see some of the reaction. Even Mr No Regrets whom I have met in the flesh.

Anyway I look forward to seeing some of you on the river and thanks to those that have offerd constructive help.

Awww, don't be like that!! We went past you yesterday, but nobody was on board... :(

I was, in my little OCD world, wondering why you would advertise speed and power in a world where it's everything people DON'T want to see!?

Surely it would be more pertinent to lob in a few lines about 'Great visibility' 'Easy to walk-around' or stuff they can use!? :p

A part of my job is to create marketing video's which extoll the virtues of a well known brand of German car. Part of the process involves telling people what features each car has, and 'What it will do for THEM!' I tend to avoid power and performance stuff unless it's a car they are likely to take to Track days or the Nurburgring, otherwise we are not only open to abuse from the ASA, but some small minded souls have been known to call and complain that we have been glorifying speed! Sadly, they would be right, as our 70mph limits are about half of what our slowest car will cruise at!

No offence meant, but you can abuse me next time we're down at Windsor together!

Might see you at Henley first by the way, feel free to raft...
