I have just worked out that the Henley Festival will be in progress when we aim to moor up in Henley on our annual 2 week trip this year. I'm not fussed about the festival or getting tickets, but we normally moor up opposite the management college before the lock going downstream. Does anyone know if there are normally any restrictions on the moorings that far up when the festival is on, or more importantly, do they charge the normal mooring rates during that period?

Think I have just found my answer online, if it's still Hobbs of Henley doing the moorings:

Moorings are available for minimum 5 nights from 12 noon Wednesday 10th July 2024 to 12 noon Monday 15th July 2024.

The following is available:

  • Bankside mooring
  • Male/female toilets
  • Permission to put up gazebo (but not tents to sleep in)
  • Bins
  • Security onsite (new for 2024)
The following is not permitted:
  • Single night mooring (only for 5 nights)
So basically it looks like we can't moor there for one night anyway !!

We will be coming from upstream so will probably moor up in the day for a few hours at Mill Meadows for supplies and walk around the town (like we normally do), but then leave there before 3pm (so no mooring charge) and then head up to medmenham or hurley for the night.

Isn't that for Fawley Meadows?

Your favoured spot sounds like it's on Copas' frontage.

Reading that it looks like you can moor for one night at £40.

Also saying that it’s now £15 a night to moor in normal times, that’s gone up a bit since last year, think it was £10 - £12 then
