I asked for further details of the works and restrictions re Henley Bridge and have just received the following information:
Note - the stated headway of Henley Bridge centre arch is 4.34metres (14’3”)
Because of the type of mortar used in the work which will not "go off" below a certain temperature special consent has been given to work in the centre arch in October.
The contractors are now working on the two side arches to the Henley Town side of the centre arch. They will not be moving into the centre arch before Thursday of next week, 6th October, earliest. I am in daily communication with the Oxfordshire Bridge engineer and he will give us notice of any further change to this date.
From a survey of the arches last weekend:
Width.....both side arches are 12" narrower than the centre arch.
Height....The arch keystone to the left of centre looking upstream is 5" lower than the centre arch keystone.
The arch keystone to the right of centre looking upstream is 8" lower than the centre arch keystone.
Note - the stated headway of Henley Bridge centre arch is 4.34metres (14’3”)
