Hempel Multicoat vs Brilliant Gloss (Whats the difference?)

A while back I purchased some Multicoat, I've just gone and ordered another tin for hopefully painting the deck and cabin top when the weather is suitable. However, I've accidently ordered Brilliant Gloss! What exactly is the difference? is one preferable over the other?

Multicoat is a flatter finish - it is described as semi gloss, whereas the brilliant gloss is just that. Which is preferable? That depends on the finish you want!

Would be intrested to know what other have used on the exterior of their boats, flat or gloss..? I'm probably going to need another tin of one of them now, so will put the redundant tin to use on the interior.

I have just started painting with Hempel brilliant gloss, it is very very shiney. Either it is a very thick coat or its an optical delusion from the shineyness that makes it look that way.
Personally, I wouldn't paint a deck with it as it looks like it could be a bit of a skating rink.

I used multicoat on previous boat's interior lockers. A kind of satin finish, but maybe slightly glossier. Was very pleased with the results anyway.

Gloss on a deck especially white is really bad for glare from sunshine. Hence most boats decks are a beige flat gel coat. If you are painting decks don't forget you need a non skid surface. I use Internationals Intergrip sprinkled on the wet paint.

I used multicoat on the side decks of siri with some grip powder mixed in. It's lasted well so far (couple of years).
