Good morning,
I have recently primed and undercoated the sides and roof of my narrowboat in Hempel Light Primer (2 pack epoxy), the hope was to have the boat professionally finished but the painter has cancelled at the last minute. This leaves an unfinished boat at the mercy of the elements. The coating has been sanded down to a flat finish prior to it fully curing. I contacted Hempel and asked about what I'd need to do to protect the undercoat and they appeared very confident that I'd not have to do anything and could leave the product over winter to be finally painted in spring next year. They mentioned that UV might affect the product but needed nothing more than a sand down and clean before being painted.
I'm looking to see if anyone has left this product for a similar amount of time without issue? It almost seems to good to be true that it'll last 6 months or so without breaking down to an extent.
