Hempel epoxy kit

A strange encounter with one of these, while retro-fitting additional winches and jammers to a friend's boat......

The tin containing the 'pink' epoxy was only half-filled. The odd thing - apart from the disappointment on the owner's face - was that the BOTTOM half of the tin, inside, was uncoated and pristine-clean. The epoxy material was *all* in the upper half.

How do they do that?

Yeah I tried that trick with about 3 litres of a/f in a 4 litre tin. I put it up on a shelf above my bench.
Not a good idea over a period the paint leaked out....what a mess....

So I rescued what was left. The next winter I tried the drill press with a stirer and managed to put a hole in the bottom of the can.... more mess..

My bench doesn't have any sea weed growing on it..... olewill
