In the bright light of morning, with a hangover, I agree with you and feel a little silly about it.
In my defence, it is a stainless saucepan, not a stainless anchor and I didn't discuss the damage to the environment by throwing it away and buying another. I also stayed away from saying that I have a similar set of pans on my Westerly yacht.

nothing silly about it, I'd feel the same concern for any kit on my boat costing over 2 quid...
