As Mr MC is so useless at coming up with a new boat name (and doesn't like any of mine or the kids suggestions)... we could do with some help! any ideas - preferably childproof!!!!!

So what's wrong with 'Morgana'?

[/ QUOTE ]Nothing really.... it just doesn't do it for me, and the real clincher... there's already one in the marina... so easiest to avoid confusion...

I gather Morgana is a Welsh term, but for what I don't know

sorry about that....quick trip to Tesco!!!!! Don't mind Morgana but as Mr MC said, theres already one in marina....and would like something a bit more original

I think you need to remind him who's in charge....
Anyway boat name's are a bit of a problem. They can be a bit pretentious. Amalgamations of names can be a mistake (my first dinghy was called 'Ginjorlace V' cos it included evryones christian names). I've only ever bought second hand so have kept them as is - and it can get expensive changing lettering, docs etc.
Best advice I heard is that when you're calling the coastguard in a difficult situation and lots of people are listening the name doesn't sound too difficult or embarrasing...

I would suggest "Fata Morgana", which is the title of a romantic poem. (fata is Latin for "fairy" BTW)

The only trouble is that of homophones....... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
