I like to have a spare but the dealers tell me they aren't available so the only thing is to buy a new switch with keys at £70.....

the one that came with the boat looks hand made so they aren't high tech..........anyone know where i can get one or have one hanging around for sale or a donation to RNLI or similar?

don't know which dealer you asked by I got a new set a couple of years ago from
Marine-power
I have a YSB8 engine but the control panel is from a YSM so the first set of keys they sent me didn't fit. they changed them no problems and no cost.
Have you tried getting them cut somewhere?

If the keys are the same as the YSM8 then I have two that are no longer any use to me.

After my boat was vandalised I made a new control panel rather than pay the ridiculous price of the Yanmar part using an ignition switch for a Mini. These are cheap and easy to get hold of and also can be wired to give start on the key rather than the pushbutton.

If they are any use to you PM me your address and I will pop them in the post.
