Hi
I am getting to grips with airmail , having got the rig set up at home to be able to iron out any probs prior to installing on the boat.
My problem is with winlink, the info I receive is out of date (april 2012 ) and i have no idea how to get up to date info. The grib file requests come through ok and are current.
Wits end at the moment.
Any ideas please.

What radio are you using?
Sorry, can't help you much with airmail, have you tried RMS?
I use that on an ic7000 ham set and it's fine, pretty sure you can update the frequencies if the machine is plugged into the Internet.
What info is it that's out of date?

Thanks for the reply GHA.
Radio is a Kenwood TS480. RMS is the system. Winlink catalog requests are out of date , April 2012 for GMDSSMed3. Catalog has updated but info received is still out of date.
Thanks for your interest.

In Airmail, try Window > Catalogs > WL2K > Global and check the LIST (Get a complete new list) box. Then 'Close', you should now have a new email waiting to be sent. I'd suggest sending that by using Modules > Internet Access and click 'Check All', if you've got the invocation right what you should get back will be quite large but should update the lists automatically - I just did that and my list is now dated 21/12/2013. I cant remember how to update the station list, I know the Help isnt very helpful but poke around a bit and you should find an answer.

I think ZS5S who edited the RMS link referred in Airmail ceased updating in 2012..

Thanks for the help Robbie and GHA. In the wee small hours I sorted the airmail update. Still no joy with the RMS side of things. I didn't realise they were 2 ways of getting the same info. My learning curve is pretty steep, just learning the language really. Such a good idea of my mate to set it up at home a year befor we embark on our trip south.

In RMS Express's (Version 1.2.5.0) help function I found the list dated 2014. Snippet attached. I didn't search all options to find all HF stations nor all modes, but it clearly is updating with recent lists. You can export the file as a csv file.

Here is today's station list uploaded to googledocs https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2N_76oi5521NlRnU2hkUGZMLVU/edit?usp=sharing

You should have the latest version of Winlink 1.2.26.0 If this shows outdated update dates then just press the UPDATE button and it will show todays date.

If you have trouble downloading a Grib file try a smaller size. There is a file size limit with Winlink.

When I last looked at the Winlink catalog it had many duplications. There was much re-invention of the wheel.

You can always save some of my pages –

http://weather.mailasail.com/Franks-Weather/Inmarsat-Text-Forecasts-Worldwide for INMARSAT texts. And other pages at http://weather.mailasail.com/Franks-Weather/Weather-Forecasts-On-The-Internet for other GMDSS forecasts.

Simply send an email via Winlink to query@saildocs.com with text “send(one space)URL of web page” Within one minute you will get an email with the text of the page of that URL.

Please let me know of errors or possible additions.

If you have Airmail, you will be able to get GRIBs with no problem. If in doubt, see my Saildocs GRIB page - http://weather.mailasail.com/Franks-Weather/Saildocs-Free-Grib-Files. The sub facility is particularly useful as you can GRIBs for as many days as you wish – for the same area – following a single request.
