I have twin D6-370 with EVC control. Since new the fuel gauges have never been close to each other except when full. The port tank inevitably shows a much faster drop than the starboard. I've checked the Wema senders and they show exactly the same resistance level but the gauges show totally different quantities. For example tonight the resistance reads 78/196 ohms on both tanks but one gauge reads 78% the port reads 56%!

I've, at different times, used both the full tank and the multipoint calibration on the EVC settings menu but to have found no significant improvement.

If I'm in doubt fortunately I can take the fuel filler hoses off and dip the tank with a stick - very high tech!

Any help very much appreciated

Wema senders, a cheap alternative to vdo which should be better suited to volvos application .

The best way is to calibrate it with another sender , calibrate it in steps as per the manual from the rev counter in calibration mode.

Hi I have D6 330s with twin fuel tanks but one fuel gauge. Mine read ok and the best way I "calibrated " it is to let it show about 50% full, then i fiil them up and note how many litres was needed. I also do this at about 20% full and thus I get a good idea how accurate is the fuel indicator. I have not calibrated it using the recomended Volvo method. Hope this helps. Capt peter
