Good evening all. My upholstery needs cleaning and I have heard people talking about Magic Sponges. Could any of you please enlighten as to are they any good? If so, which are the best and where to get these sponges from. Regards M M 1.

JML are very good but very expensive, Lidl/ALdi do them for a lot cheaper - in my opinion they are the best boat cleaning sponge ever!!

I have white vinyl on my 80's retro guzzler and the seats were manky. Couple of JML magic erasers has done the job. They do break up easily but only used two to do 6 large cushions.

If you want to speed the whole process up and not have the sponges 'break up' then also use a fabric stain remover like, 'Whizz' or 'Cillit Bang' equivalent, any type of spray on 'stain buster' You can buy it in the pound shop for 99p! better known brands might cost £2.99 ish.

Spray on to dry seat, wipe over with wet and squeazed out 'magic eraser' and this lifts the grime much more quickly. About one cusion per minute, almost as quick as a table top. The seat will then feel tacky, just wipe off with damp micro fibre cloth and presto.!

One sponge will probably do it all, my boy. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

For those in Spain you can buy a liquid called MINEA N-100-DD (catchy title what?)
Very similar effect to the magic pads which makes me feels that they share the same chemicals. Just spray on, wait a minute and wipe off. I'm sure my cushions came up better than new.

Great product, they dont to my knowlege contain any chemicals its, just the sponge, wash smallish areas at a time and wipe clean with a dry cloth.
DONT use thes on clear panels on the canopy as they are slightly abrasive and will scuff the panels quite easily.
