I’m struggling to find any information on the standard diameter of the ropes for the leisure 17, could anyone help me out? What’s the minimum diameter I need? Thanks..
But if you look it is almost half the price of buying by the metre. I got 3 new 10mm halyards for around £35 each that would have been closer to £60 in the local chandlers. Of course you have to take the lengths on offer but never found this a problem. All rope comes off the end of the reel, just a sales ploy.
If you have winches for the jib sheets you may find that the ring for turning the jib sheet is necessary to ensure the sheet arrives at the winch from below. So If you fit a sheeve pulley your sheet may arrive too high on the winch causing over rides. The only option then is to raise the winches on blocks. Thanks guys, I’m currently sorting out my Genoa track, it came with a steel ring and the rope/halyard just slid through, I want to put a pulley on it, I’m replacing the old version with harken rail and I’ve made my own sliders lol, to buy them would have cost me more than I paid for the boat ?, I got the rail for free from work, so for the Genoa/jib and Mainsheet a 6-8mm line and pulleys would suffice? Thanks again
