We have a southerly 38 and a parasailor and love the thing. However in an attempt to use it more we want to have the sheets and guys rigged semi permanently . Problem is we have 2 winches on the coach roof and 2 on the coamings.
At present we run the 2 guys to the coach roof winches and the 2 sheets to the coaming winches.
However to do this, the spray hood has to be down and it's a little messy on deck.
So I though about running All 4 lines to the coaming winches . My question is, should I use clutches or cam cleats for holding the lines? I can get cam cleats that will take the load, it's just he quick release aspect that I am interested in.
Or is this a bad idea. We sail short handed all he time.
Also if anyone can think of a lovely neat solution for using all 4 winches, I would be grateful,
Any questions, please ask,
Cheers
