We have a WIND sim card (data only) for the internet and it is fast becoming a nightmare.
We have credit on the Sim but when the data allocation runs out it reverts to super slow until the next month.
Is there a way of resetting the start date of the card so we can pay for more data or do you have to wait for the next month.
We have been on the website to try and do it but nothing happens.
At the moment it looks as if we are going to need two Sim cards and swap them over. The way things are the next card won't be WIND.
Any suggestions for Sicily
Thanks

We went through this last year with WIND so it may have changed. I thought we would have to have multiple SIM cards (which is not really a problem as the cost of the card is only €5) however if you have sufficient credit on the card any of the shops, or a call to customer service can reset it for you. I think there is also a way to do it my putting the SIM into a phone and sending a service message but I never quit worked it out but I think that was how the shops did it. I use more than the 10gb limit a month and it was never an issue.

Sicily SIm

We have a TIM SIM for Internet data only that we got when we arrived in Italy and have found it to be very good.
The deal from TIM was 25€ per month plus a one off 10€ for the SIM, you get 10GB per month and can pay in advance for as many months as you like, we got it in July and have paid up to November. It is proving to be much better than the Organge SIM we had in Spain, we have had a good signal almost everywhere, the only place we didn't was around the Madalena Islands. I would recommend it. Not sure if you used all the 10GB in a month if you could add extra, you would have to ask at the TIM shop, we have never managed to use it all.
We will be heading to Stromboli in the next couple of days so I could let you know how we get on.
By the way if you can recommend any anchorages around Sicily it would be helpful as they seem very limited.

Kevin, if you PM me we your location I will tell you of the ones I know.. so far apart from arriving in the Islands of Sicily we have managed to anchor everywhere. Currently we are in Santi Arg Ta Militello which is on the mainland south of the islands. New marina with a large protected inner basin in which we are anchored in 25 knots We can see a huge swelll outside .

Mr Staines. Thank you for the info. There is a reset button on the wind website when you set it up. We have pressed the reset button on there several times and although we have credit it does nothing. We will triy a shop but the last one we went in the man clearly didn't want to be there or bothered by us.

When I was in Italy in 2007 I had a Wind Sim and a Tim sim. Between them, I got enough Gb to watch UK TV as much as I wanted. Given that things have moved on, I would guess there is a way to do something similar today.

Taormina and the rest of the bay - get the bus up the hill, and be in the place where the rich take their holidays! Syracusa - but don't stay too long or the barnacles will encrust your hull. Porto Palo - nothing there, but very safe, and handy for a daylight trip to Malta.

Stromboli is a super experience. Vulcano was a bit wierd, but memorable :)
