Help with IT (email) - very slightly boat related

Can anyone advise with a problem concerning email dedicated to a club (that's how it's boat-related)?

The background
We have a website with its own Domain Name which lives at 123-reg. They also provide a catch-all email redirect for <anything> @ <Domain Name>. To make this more useful, email is sent from 123-reg to gmail to get chair @ <Domain Name>, secretary @ <Domain Name> and treasurer @ <Domain Name> all redirected to the individuals' personal emails. So far, so good.

The question
I thought I was doing well until the treasurer asked if it is possible for him to use treasurer @ <Domain Name> as the apparent email address when he sends emails. I have no idea but maybe someone here can advise if it's possible to do this, ideally without spending any money ?

Yes. Either set the name up as a user or alias on the server or use something like TurboSMTP to spoof the sending address. Someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly to sort this step by step for you.

What email client are you using?

It is usually as simple as just setting the "from" email address to what you want.

If you want to do that automatically you will need multiple email accounts set up on your email client.

I don't think you can do what you want if you are using a web browser to read the emails on line (but I may be wrong) I never do that.

I should have been upfront that I'm in unfamiliar territory. By email client, is that the program used by the end user? If so, the treasurer who raised the question is using Yahoo mail so I think web browser based but I was hoping to find a generally applicable system.
I didn't understand any of Iliade's 1st sentence but the 2nd gives me hope ...

So I suspect it isn't possible.
A cheap webhosting package such as this for ~£36 per annum would provide 10 e-mail accounts - but it fails the "free" test!
You wouldn't need the webhosting space.

It definitely is possible because I do it. I have a simple domain with catch-all email forwarding to my main Yahoo email. In the Yahoo web client interface, after selecting 'Compose' I can choose on the 'From' drop down the id@domain I use. It is sometime since I set this up so will post instructions later.

OK, here are the instructions for Yahoo web client:

Yahoo mail - top right -> settings -> ... More settings -> Mailboxes ->under, Send-only email address -> Add ->enter, e.g "treasurer @ <Domain Name> "

I gather that treasurer@myclub.com is currently redirected to oldfred@gmail.com. In that case, Old Fred logs into GMail and goes to Settings (gear wheel) -> Accounts and Import -> Send mail as -> Add another email address and enters "treasurer@myclub.com". GMail will ask for an address at myclub.com to send an email to, he responds "treasurer@myclub.com". Soon a message pops up in his Gmail inbox, he does what it tells him to (click on a link, I think) and all is set up. I had to do it a month or two ago - it's fiddly but fine.

That's not quite how it is. treasurer@myclub.com is currently redirected to myclub@gmail.com which filters the office bearers and redirects to oldfred@fred'smail - Yahoo in the case of the treasurer who raised the issue.

I might pass Ithet's Yahoo solution on to the treasurer and swear him to secrecy so the others don't ask for the same facility!

Our webhosting is currently being provided by a corporate benefactor who supplied the web design too, which is why Webcraft didn't get the gig in the first place. He just couldn't compete with "free" unfortunately.
