Help with Forum please

Doh!

Had just got to grips on the old forum with being able to post (for example) 'Here', which, when clicked on, would open up a website or something via it's URL(?).

Could one of you guys tell me in really basic language, how I do it with the new format. I've tried several things, but got nowhere!

Piccies I can do, this baffles me!

Go to your UserCP at the top left. Then Edit Options. At the bottom of the options you can change the Editor from Basic to Standard. This then gives you the full works including smilies when you post. One of those is the Globe internet symbol which gives you the URL pop-up box just like the old forum. Paste in the URL. You can edit the words to Here or whatever once this is done.

Thanks very much for that. I've got as far as pasting in the URL, so do I then use the 'wrap 'PHP' tags around selected text' button?

I tried doing that and typed in 'Here' and that appeared ok BUT, unlike the old forum, when I tried preview, the word 'Here' wasn't active, if you see what I mean.

I was going to post the reply anyway to see if it worked, but then found the webpage had expired!!

When you paste the URL into the pop-up box and click OK the [URL etc bit shows in your post with a section which is highlighted and which you overtype with the text you want. So you getmetcheck

Many thanks for your help. I mucked around for ages after your last post before I realised that, unlike the previous Forum format, the 'Preview post' doesn't show the submitted view.

So I just submitted the post and as you can see, it works!
