I brought this boat a couple of months ago and am having real trouble finding out who it was made buy and the model . It had no plate with info on any where so i am relay at a loss. I am hoping that the lack of info plate is not a problem and if any one knows the make modle or any infomation that might help i would be greatly appreciative

Thanks

Does it matter?

It's not like you're going to go down to Halfords and buy parts for it off the shelf :).

It looks like a nice little boat for a bit of fishing or general pottering about.

No Engine yet . From all my reserch it needs 7.8hp so i was thinking a volvo penta 2001 for it although im looking into if the 18hp 2002 would be to much for it . Thanks Philip . No you are right Pete Halfords would not be the place of choice lol But more wanting to know just as it is nice to be able to know where and who it was made by . Alahol2 Hardy is the the best sort of mach i could come up with as well . Thank you all for the input Much appropriated

It's 20 ft in length but what is the beam!! It most certainly looks like fibreglass. What engine? Are there any serial numbers on equipment which may help date the boat? You are not providing much information

Sorry the length is 20 ft the beam is 7ft it had no engine when i brought it and all the equipment had been taken out only leaving a very old hand bilge pump. the Hull is fiberglass and the only info the old owner could give me was that it had a Renault engine before he took it out and scraped it. sorry about not having much to go on . I was hoping with the distinctive wooden trim on the back some one might remember one .
Thanks
Craig

I know how you feel.
Bought my first cheap old boat a Year ago, seem to have spent about 4 billion pounds and thousands of hours getting her straight over the Year!! Still, nearly there now, it will all be worth it :)

Well i had a starting buget of 2k and after much calculation and deciding not to replace the wood but to have it all fiberglass-ed so it will never rot again I am looking at 4 and a half now lol still it will be some thing to be proud of and with any luck a awesome little boat. Thankfully the worst bit for me is done now it is stripped out and sanded buy the time the fiberglass is is all done I will just need to drop the engine in ( once i finaly decide what one),refit the cabin and paint her so one could say i am cheating a bit .

Exactly, and when it's all done it will be something you've created yourself (even if you're not doing the actual graft,) I'm sure she'll serve you well :)
Sorry I can't help with your engine questions, I just don't have a clue. My old boat has a planing hull so the power requirements are a bit different.
Again, the guys on the fishing forum are very knowledgeable about powering these old boats, would be worth asking about that too if you don't get any answers here.
What are you going to use her for?

Just some fishing and a bit of pottering about with the Wife and kids in the summer might do the odd trip up the coast for a couple of nights fishing but then with a hull speed of just under 6 knots wouldn't be far lol
