Help to ID an unknown saildrive model, please..

Ok, a quick one for the panel..

Anyone out there recognise the make/model/manufacture of this saildrive leg? Please…

I can tell you its not the same manufacture as the engine, I rather suspect its very much older than the engine age. Also I am not convinced the gearbox part of the saildrive is anything to do with the saildrive leg, I may be wrong on that front though.

What do you think?

An old Selva?

I wondered that when it was been describe, pre seeing these photos, but I cant visually match it to any old Selva kit that google.com finds.

Its interesting you mention Selva though…
 
Something cobbled-up?

May just prove to be, I don’t really know.

The gearbox part is from a company called DZ Transmission they just make angle precision bevel gear drives, not saildrive units compete.

So may very well be a 'cobbled-up' unit. But the saildrive leg had to belong to something originally, need to locate what that originally was, as parts are needed for the leg.
 
Could it be an old Watermota - they made them for a while, although this one looks a bit lightweight for one of theirs.
