Hi,
I gather a couple of different pumps have been fitted and this one needs a service, it was seized (maybe through lack of use) but I have got it turning again having given it a good spray of WD40 into the gubbin's, however it is not turning as freely as I think it should.

There are 6 bolts holding the stainless steel cover plate on (the stainless cover plate could be a replacement) and the impeller sits on a shaft with a "proper" woodruff Key - not a slot in the end of the shaft. it has a paper gasket on the cover not a rubber seal that some others have.

I'm hoping to ID it so I can buy a service kit (and avoid Yanmar prices for a new pump).

thanks

Easiest way is - paper gasket is a Jabsco pump, older non E (YEU) prefix engines - newer pump is the Johnson pump with a o ring seal...

In any event if your buying a new pump, buy the Newer Johnson pump, I'm told its exactly the same fitment but a fraction of the price, even from Marine power..

Also even if you rebuild it, it's likely to be worn, as in the bronze body has been worn away with silty water after years of rubbing by the spinning impeller - you get a hell of a increase in flow with a new pump, better cooling, quieter exhaust and easier priming etc...

Good to know thanks. Do you happen to have the Johnson or Jabsco pump part number, I have been on both site but I can not identify it.
