I'm installing this Suzuki voltmeter into my 2000 DF70 loom. The illumination wiring's straightforward but there are two grey feeds at one end of the meter loom which siamese into one feed before entering the meter. It's new/old stock and as it's an early one I can't find a wiring diagram anywhere. I'd appreciate somebody telling me where to connect the two grey feeds to the engine loom. Thanks

Identify the positive and negative connections for the voltmeter itself. The negative will probably be a common negative for the meter and the illumination.

Connect the positive to a switched positive supply. Perhaps directly on the ignition switch or perhaps more conveniently to the positive feed to the tachometer or other instrumenrs. Connect the negative to a convenient negative (ground). Perhaps the negative connection for the other instruments.
Connect the illumination to the same supply as the illumination of the tach etc.

Thank you but my problem, as shown in the pictures, is that there are two positive wires siamesed into one before it connects to the meter. The picture showing the three wires is the opposite end of the lead from the meter, which shows two, a grey wire and a black earth. What I'm trying to find out is why there are two positive (grey) leads at one end and what I connect them to.

As snowbird suggests probably designed to be " daisy chained" into the existing wiring.
If it is designed for your specific engine installation it may be come apparent where to do that when you install it. ( are you sure its prewired for an outboard . not a motor cycle?

Otherwise disconnect the grey wires if possible and simply wire as I suggest in #2. If the grey wires cannot be disconnected use one, insulate the other and secure it.

Thanks everybody. It seems that the easiest method is as VicS suggests. I don't think the meter was designed for a DF70. More likely a big two stroke or even, as snowbird suggests, a bike.
Unless I find the daisy chain lead talked about in the loom, assuming it's also grey, I'll simply ignore the second grey feed and wire it the simplest way as if it were a two-wire aftermarket unit. Thanks again. Time to get a battery out and test it.
