Has anybody dioscovered and diagrams of set ups for more advanced dinghy rigs? Just putting together an old 14 for the first time and I might benefit from seeing a few examples.

It's the usual twin spreader with adjustable uppers and aft facing lowers, with what seems like fixed shrouds to the jib point to set up initial rig tensiion.

It has a jib furler which also doesn't make complete sense.

I have got it looking almost ready to sail so the lighter wind tomorrow might be good weather to start in, can't wait to get out after seeing the size of the kite!

If your 14 ft dinghy is anything like an Australian 14ft Skiff then I use the kite off one as a strong wind spinnacker on my 21ft trailer sailer. It works really well in 18 to 30 knots and really stirs up the opposition as they feel obliged to fly a kite and so get into all sorts of trouble. The kite is about as big as my biggest genoa jib.

Good luck with the first sail of the boat and do be careful. You will almost inevitably capsize so be prepared. olewill
