Does anyone know how to get these things to download at the correct sizes to fit the chart?I have spent a lot of time attempting to correct my Small Craft Folios. The print only notices are simple to do but I cannot seem to get the block corrections to come out right.I read Tim Bartlett's article in Sailing Today which got me started on this project but he is very vague about the block corrections problem and talks about dithered something or other. Can anyone help?.I have Windows 98 and have downloaded the Adobe Acrobat software supplied free on the Admiralty Website. My printer is a HP Desk Jet 690C.What really bothers me is that when I go foreign I may well be trying to do all this in an Internet Cafe and at this rate it will cost a fortune!!

I have just tried as you said and they still come out the wrong size. I believe this is a function of the block being designed for the source chard and not the leisure one. Needs a question asking of the Hydrographic office.

Perhaps I had better ask!

Odd - haven't had any problems myself.

Are you talking about Small Craft Series charts (the folded ones), or Small Craft Folio charts (the half size ones that come in packs of about 10). SCS charts are to the same scale as the source chart - shouldn't be any problems. Folios tend to be to different scales to the source charts & so you will have fun making the blocks fit.

I have been in touch with the UKHO and spoken to the resident expert - Roger Teall tel. 01823 337900 ext. 3718 (No. published as Helpline on UKHO Website is wrong). As suggested above it is the difference in scale between the source chart and that of the relevant Small Craft Folio Chart that is causing the problem. The Folio in question is the Channel Islands (SC 5604 ) published in 2001.Mr Teall assures me that the latest Small Craft Folios do not have this problem any longer and that the new edition of SC 5604 will not have this problem either. He assures me that there are no problems of this nature with standard Admiralty Charts. He was very helpful and rang me back with the answer within minutes of my call.It would seem to me that once these teething problems have been ironed out the system will work well.Apart from the difficulties outlined I have found correcting the charts time consuming but fairly straightforward and now they are up to date it should be a simple matter to keep them that way. Many thanks to all who replied to my initial post.
