Roger @Sailorman possibly
It would be mega if any of you could pass a message mucho appteciado J*rry

Yes exactly, thanks very much, I will be at Fambridge 1300 Sunday.
You and I met once, or at least waved to each other, going past those railway bridges on the standing mast route if you remember, it was Dutch Armed Forces Day, jets overhead and beer flowing like water!

If you are thinking of the Ferryboat for lunch, you might like to know that someone from the Parker Seal Owners Assn (who was trying to confirm a booking there) has just been told it is closed until further notice.
Sorry I don't have any more details.

Well I haven't been in the pub since last week but I think I'd have heard if it was shut! (Bearing I mind our mooring is the other side of the boatyard and I virtually live on board)

I'll double check when I pop up the shops later but I think somebody has got their wires crossed

Thanks for the warning Jan, however I just rang them, under new ownership and open for business!

Sorry, didn't get around to posting earlier. The Ferry Boat at North Fambridge is open as normal

I'm puzzled by the new ownership bit, I've heard nothing about the lease changing hands (the pub is owned by Yacht Havens but was leased to Jeff and Ray. I've heard a rumour that Ray is no longer involved but I've not heard anything about Jeff giving the place up and I'm in there rather too often!)

The new ownership part of my post is from random gossip, and I happily withdraw it as unsubstantiated tittle-tattle!

Might be somewhat dates random gossip. Yacht Havens bought the freehold some four or five years ago from the family who'd owned the pub for many years and promptly signed a lease agreement with the chaps who've run it ever since but somebody revisiting after a gap of several years could be forgiven for thinking of it as "new" ownership

I'll be up there later to watch the Wales v England game on the telly :D

Hi Bru, I've just tried to make some bookings at the Ferry Boat and had this reply:

"Unfortunately we will be unable to take any booking as the Ferryboat will be closing on the 26th Feb until further notice. "

This sounds like bad news for all involved, but might not be as terminal as it sounds. Can you find out any more when you're up there?

Crikey!

Wonder what the **** is going on?

Yes England won. Much beer was consumed (well it'll only go to waste when the place shuts for a month so I consider it my solemn duty to attempt to drink the cellar dry by the 26th!)

This is hard work! You (Bru) said you would find out what was going on - I , perhaps stupidly, assumed that you would share the info.....?
